CPS Sketch #168

This week the {stamps} of life is sponsoring Card Positioning Systems sketch #168...we actually have a special release set, hip2be, that is full of square images that would be perfect for this week, but I thought it might be a go-to set for our designers*, so I thought I would try something a little different!

My card is an *Old Glory* style card that reminds me of calico quilts and Americana dolls...it is a hybrid card made with both clear stamps and digital brushes using one of this month's special release sets, stars4You.  The card base is made with clear stamps and stamped-off gold ink on ivory card stock.  The focal images are made with the digital brushes.  I used nestabilities squares to cut and emboss the mats for the stars, and gave everything a light sponging with Tim Holtz tea-dye distress ink.  Couldn't resist adding a red bow tied with a sparkly gold button.

Aren't you glad it's almost summer?!

*eta:  How funny that the three cards I've seen from our team so far all used stars4You!  I decided to also share a Father's Day card made with hip2be and all4Dads.  Even though I made this back in April, it could almost fit as a flipped version of today's sketch...what do you think?!
