Say Cheese!

Hello again!  Can you believe that April is almost over?!  It has been a whirlwind week here as my 22 year old son and I are preparing for a trip to Italy with the Orange Park Chorale, so I spent most of the day yesterday working on my recently purchased Midori Traveler's Notebook (oh, I think I'm in love!) and on thank-you's for our tour guide and bus driver.

Our time abroad will be action-packed as we tour Venice, Florence, and Rome, singing four concerts along the way.  One of those concerts is in Lucca, which is near Pisa, so I wanted to include a Leaning Tower brad on my card.  I'm hoping for a photo-op to take a picture with Matthew there and for a place to print it...since the little file folder is adhered only on one side with foil washi tape, it flips up and the small photo will go underneath.  That way when our hosts get thank you's from a bus-full of choristers, they'll know who this one came from!  (I stamped a sentiment there just in case things don't go as planned!)

The package of brads that includes the Leaning Tower also includes the Colosseum, so I'll be making another card to go along with this one.  I wanted them to be busy, fun, and sort of "lights, camera, action" because that's what I'm expecting this trip to be.  My Midori is prepped so that I can jot down highlights and important things to remember.  I'll share that with you when we get back. Until then, happy stamping!

Elegant Cameos

Hello friends!  I'm here to share some vintage beauty today!  Have you seen these stunning resin cameos that are new to the Eyelet Outlet?  I am absolutely in love with them!  They come in a four-pack which includes several colors, and are available in this round shape or in the traditional oval.  Aren't they just gorgeous?!  Here's a close-up so you can see the lovely detail...

I paired this one with a doily stamp and some of our champagne jewel swirl bling, snipping the jewels into sections to fit around a printed sentiment.  The raggedy tulle and ribbon bow is accented with a single matching 12 mm pale champagne jewel

If you haven't already checked out the new flatback resin category at the Eyelet Outlet, you ought to!  There's everything from elegant to adorable.

Hope to see you again soon!

Feeling a Bit Peckish?!

Happy Spring, everyone!  For some of you, such a greeting may seem like a bad April Fool's Day joke!  You may not feel like Spring has really arrived if you're digging out from under a blanket of snow, but here in Florida we have been covered with a blanket of pollen which, for many of my friends, has brought a myriad of allergy symptoms to go along with it.  That's what prompted this country, farm-style get-well card.

For the card front, I used scraps of designer paper in Americana colors and a little lace along with some asymmetrically placed chicken brads...makes me think of the flannel-backed plastic tablecloths my grandma used on her farm house dining table when all of us grandkids came to visit.

Couldn't resist decorating the inside with a hexagon "chicken wire" designer paper print, this vintage eggs ad and some egg brads, which went along perfectly with the country theme and the sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas.

Have a happy April Fool's Day!  I hope, if you get pranked, that it's a fun one!
