A Fresh Hello!

It's been so warm and summery lately, and absolutely beautiful with lots of flowers and bright sunshine!  Couldn't resist some fresh summer sunshine colors for a Stamp Simply happy birthday card!

It's the simple things, right?!  ☺️

A single brightly colored lemon forms the focal point with a little medallion-style sentiment atop layers of pretty floral and polkadot papers.

More of that pretty floral inside, with a sentiment in a beautiful script.

Easy peasy lemon-squeezy!

Old Glory!

I love stamping and sharing patriotic cards!  My dad was a WWII veteran, my brother flew F-14 Tomcats for the Navy, and my husband is USN retired, so our family has an acute awareness of what it means to serve this great nation.  And yes, even with all of its tension and strife, to me it is still the greatest country on earth!   God Bless America!  (If you're not American, I hope you feel this way about your country too!)

I love this image of our country and flag from Stamp Simply's set, Old Glory!  I think it is beautiful, and it is also fun to color!  Here I used Copic markers, with splashes of diluted gold Delicata ink and also diluted white acrylic paint.  The vivid colors of the Grunge background papers really make those splashes pop!

Here's a shot of the Old Glory sentiment which was stamped first with stamped off Memento Rich Cocoa ink before being stamped again with Delicata Golden Glitz.  I find that doing it that way helps to make the text more crisp and legible, although it is still quite difficult to get a good photo of it!  (It might have been quite nice stamped and embossed in white! Maybe I'll try that next time!)

The inside repeats the same papers/colors, using the fishtail banner die for a medal/military feel.  This sentiment is from a companion set that comes in the trio bundle with Old Glory and the matching dies.

Since this will go to a male service member, I chose to keep the embellishments fairly low-key (my guys don't like lots of frills and fanciness!)

Blessings from God

Hello again!  For today's Stamp Simply project I'm sharing a Christian card that would be perfect for confirmation, baptism, or just about any special occasion.

This gorgeous Graphic 45 floral is actually from the Woodland Friends collection, and definitely has a beautiful, lush "Garden of Eden" feel!

The golds and soft pinks of the paper were calling to be paired with a sheet of yellow-gold Craft Consortium Bloom and Wild that was just laying there on my desk!  I used a little Ripe Persimmon distress ink to bring in those peachy pink tones, sponging the ink through the openings of the Cross die and also onto the stamen of the flower.

Pairing those lighter colors against the dark green from Grunge Festive Tones really makes them look bright and beautiful.  Light and Life!  I added just a light touch of clear Wink of Stella to the raised embossing of the Cross.  So elegant!

Here's the inside.  I love this sentiment, which is such a wonderful prayer that is appropriate for any special day!

Pretty Pink Blossoms

Hi everyone!  I hope you're having a wonderful week!  We got our second Covid vaccines this week, and now we're looking forward to the weekend!

My fiber arts friend, Karen, spun up a beautiful skein of pink and green yarn which inspired me to reach for those same colors for today's Stamp Simply project for a girlfriend's upcoming birthday.

I used sentiments from three different stamp sets for this card. The leaf is actually from an Autumn stamp set, but who says it can't be used for Spring as well?!  I cut several of the same die and glued them together and then popped the whole thing up on dimensional adhesives.

If you look closely, you can see splashes and splatters of diluted clear glitter Wink of Stella.  This was done inside and out because who doesn't love some glitter on a girlie card!?!

I Love You to the Moon and Back!

Tuesday night when I went to bed there was a giant full moon shining brightly into the bedroom window.  Next day, up in my stamp studio, I came across this beautiful designer paper from the Amy Design Amazing Owls pad, and decided to make this simple, shimmering celestial card.

This was another instance of the paper being too pretty to cover up, so I went for a go-to CAS layout, the perfect accompanying sentiment, and a few shimmery splashes and splatters of silver ink.

A single silver rhinestone and a silver metallic cord bow are the only embellishments on the card front.

Inside there is another beautiful designer print, a wonderful sentiment, more splashes and splatters, and a single wooden heart (turned silver by a smoosh onto the silver ink pad).

We saw Moonstruck again not long ago!  I love that movie!  The music is so awesome and there are so many great lines in it!  A great big low-hanging moon always makes me feel as though God is looking down from Heaven, watching over me.  I love that thought and I'm always glad for the reminder!
