A Thankful Heart!

Happy Saturday! I hope you are having a great weekend!  I'm excited because we're celebrating homecoming with a friend and the house is abuzz with making preparations.  Hopefully I can share a picture or two soon!

I am also thrilled that the OCL sketch for the week is one that was based on one of my cards!  It was one that I made for sneak peeks back in August!  In the post on the OCL blog Kendra also shared a card she made using Ducky Days, which is a sentimental set to me because it was the very first card I colored entirely with Copic markers.  It was because of that set that I first fell in love with OCL! Hard to believe that it has been over two years since my journey with blogging began...I've been with i {heart} papers and OCL from the very beginning!  LOVE them both!  I have a very thankful, happy heart!

Today's card is made with OCL's Autumn Garden.  This scarecrow is such a cutie!  I colored him to match Basic Grey's Pyrus designer paper, sponging on some tea-dye distress ink for a warm, rustic look.  I cut the sentiment out with a nesties double ended tag die, sponged in some color before removing the die, and tied it on with some brown and white baker's twine that I "dyed" with a blue Copic marker.  The designer paper has little blue hearts sprinkled though it, so I added a tiny hand-cut heart to the tag, along with a punched flower.  There are sparkly fluff accents everywhere, even on the little flower hanging from his hat!

Check out the details of the sketch challenge on the OCL blog!  There is a lot going on that you DON'T wanna miss!  :)
