Skipping Stones Inspiration Challenge

I'm excited to be playing along with today's Skipping Stones Design inspiration challenge!  All of the SSD designers are featuring the newest SSD set, Darling Damask.

You should have arrived here from the fabulous blog belonging to my talented friend, Wendy Price!  If you're lost, scroll down to the bottom of this post where you'll find the entire list of today's designers.

Today's inspiration comes from a lovely photo of a beautiful bridesmaid in soft, elegant gray with a bouquet of amazing yellow roses.  My eye was drawn to the shape of her neckline and that bold splash of color.

I followed Beate's tutorial to make a trifold pocket card.  The gray card stock is stamped in black with the swirling leaf pattern from Darling Damask, and the edges are trimmed in lace.  I used Spellbinders dies to make a yellow rose with a gray pearl center, framed with a gray silk bow and silver-corded sentiment tag.

I am really pleased with the way this card turned out!  I love how the lines of the card echo the lines of the dress, with the lace leading the eyes to the feminine flower and greeting.  Hopefully it isn't hard for you to see where the idea originated!

Here are the rest of today's participants...enjoy the hop!
